【千駄ヶ谷スタッフ】モロカンインテリアのすすめ。

Hello everyone, this is Ito.

Today we will be introducing Moroccan-style interiors along with Moroccan furniture that arrived on the Moroccan flight the other day.

When you hear Scandinavian, British, or French furniture, images immediately come to mind, but Moroccan furniture seems to be less well-known than rugs.

Morocco is an Islamic country located in North Africa and was once a French colony, so it is a country with a unique culture that is a mixture of various cultures.

When I think of Morocco, it is the setting for the movie Casablanca, and I have an image of it as a foreign land full of oriental and exotic charm that Westerners dream of.

Such Moroccan interiors are called Moroccan style, and the textiles are decorated with traditional textiles such as beniwallen and ajiral, as well as Islamic geometric patterns, and the furniture is simple and rustic using natural materials. I often put things together.

If you want to match it with vintage furniture, we recommend mixing it with wooden furniture with a dry texture, natural materials such as rattan, and objects with modern elements or table lights.

Moroccan furniture is generally made of wood and has no height.

The wooden frame is thick and sturdy and looks like a cut log, and many materials such as orange trees and domes (aquatic plants) native to Morocco are used.

I would like to introduce some of my recommendations from among the furniture that has arrived this time.

This lounge chair has a three-dimensional impression due to the contrast between the leather material and the wood frame, and has a stylish silhouette with a curved back and edged seat.

Compared to box-shaped furniture such as sofas, a lounge chair has more movement and is less likely to feel oppressive even though it is large, making it a one-piece item that can complete your interior.

The bench has an attractive Moroccan atmosphere and is made of rope material with a geometric pattern woven into it, giving it an iconic appearance.
It's also cute to use as a display table to display plants and foreign books.

This colorful series of handmade mini stools has orange tree legs and a woven bosharwit seat made from split old cloth.

An interesting point about Boshal Wit is that it has no traditional patterns or manufacturing methods, and is made freely using recycled materials, so each piece has its own individuality. Product page

We have many other Moroccan furniture items in stock that we introduced today, so if you are interested, please click here .

In Morocco, most furniture is handmade by artisans using traditional methods, and furniture is made from locally available materials.

I think these non-industrial items bring warmth and calmness to our lives.

I would be happy if I could convey that charm to everyone.
