Danish furniture that fits your lifestyle - Ejvind A. Johansson and FDB Møbler -
——We would like to introduce you to special Danish furniture that will fit into your daily life.
Hello everyone. This is Kashiwazaki from Bob's Box.

The furniture we use in our daily lives is something we spend more time with than we think. By using it every day, it naturally becomes a part of our lives without us even realizing it.
Our eyes are drawn to unusual designs and they tend to be praised as innovative, but I am also drawn to humble, seemingly unobtrusive furniture that blends naturally into the peacefulness of everyday life.

Even furniture that doesn't make a strong impression at first glance is packed with a lot of hidden charm, and it may be that such furniture will be loved for a long time.
At bob's box, we carefully select and offer furniture that has this kind of power.

This time we will be introducing three pieces of furniture designed by Ejvind A. Johansson and produced by the Danish furniture manufacturer FDB Møbler.
There is a reason why it can still be used seamlessly in modern life even after more than half a century.
Today, I would like to introduce the background and appeal of this event, including from the perspective of our staff.
Designer Ejvind A. Johansson brings FDB Møbler's ideas to life
FDB Møbler is a furniture manufacturer founded in Denmark in 1942.
It was founded by the then Danish Consumers' Co-operative Society (FDB) with the aim of "bringing high-quality furniture into the lives of as many people as possible."
FDB Møbler defines "good furniture" not only as being highly designed, but also as being durable, affordable, and easy to use, and it seems that this wonderful philosophy runs throughout their furniture.
Ejvind A. Johansson is one of the designers behind many of the practical furniture pieces at FDB Møbler.
Rather than emphasizing flashy designs or strong personalities, we have carefully researched the structure and balance based on the assumption that the product will be used.
I feel that his designs truly embody the philosophy of FDB Møbler.
At first glance, all of the furniture he designs and sells at bob's box appears modest.
However, I think the reason it has been used for so long is because of the careful attention to detail in its design and the beauty of its proportions.
01|2-seater sofa (1980s)

The first item we'd like to introduce is a two-seater sofa made in the 1980s.
Despite its light appearance, the structure is sturdy and can effortlessly support your body movements and weight.

For more information, including the comfort of the chair, its structure, and the background behind the selection of upholstery, please see the link below.
Please take a look and imagine how you would use it in your daily life.

02|J65 High-Back Chair (1950s-60s)

Next, we would like to introduce the "J65" high-back chair, which was produced in the 1950s and 1960s.
This chair is packed with charm that you'll understand once you sit on it.
The angle of the backrest, the spacing between the spokes, the height of the seat, and other dimensions are all in harmony. This is a highly refined chair that can be used daily.

The J65 is a chair whose charm cannot be fully conveyed through photographs alone.
We also delve into the actual feel of the product and how it matches with other fabrics. Please take a look at the link below.

03|J67 Dining Chair (1957)

Our final piece is the J67 dining chair, produced in 1957.
The J67 is attractive for its structural beauty. I feel that it is a chair whose merits accumulate with repeated use.

We will be focusing on the structure and the appearance of the wood. Please take a look at the link below and imagine the comfort of the structure design.

Designed for continued use
As I look at, touch, and face a lot of furniture every day, I am reminded of a very simple yet difficult question: "What exactly is good design?"
Because furniture is something that is used daily, it is assumed that it will last a long time, but I believe that being sturdy alone is not enough.
I believe that making the time we spend each day comfortable and enriching it even a little is very important for humans and leads to a sense of happiness in life.

To achieve this, it is essential that the product has a good balance of visual beauty, a natural feeling when touching and using it, and a sense of "comfort."
Not only durability, but also the structure, materials, appearance, and usability The key to furniture that can continue to be used is to create a natural harmony. I felt it through his furniture.
Such furniture is not influenced by trends, fits into people's lives, and is sure to be loved for a long time.
I would be happy if as many people as possible could learn about this feeling and it could inspire them to "choose things carefully."
and Ejvind A. Johansson. I believe that the furniture we created for FDB Møbler is a good design that meets these requirements.
