【cerote antiques】夏の暑さにも負けないHOTなアイテム、あり〼。 - SHARK ATTACK ONLINE SHOP

It's been a while since I last posted on the blog. This is Motoka from CEROTE ANTIQUES in Sendagaya.

We are in the middle of summer and the heat has been intense every day. How are you all doing?

It's so hot in Tokyo that I'm starting to think they'll soon be issuing a curfew to stop people from getting heatstroke.

On a day like this when it's difficult to go outside, let's make our rooms even more beautiful and raise our spirits, so we'd like to introduce some hot items that will help you survive the scorching heat, which are on display and for sale at CEROTE ANTIQUES! Let's go!

Vintage 3-seater sofa

First, we would like to introduce a vintage sofa that combines calm off-white fabric with a wood frame.

Large furniture can often have a feeling of oppression, but the slim frame and tall legs give it a clean look.

The wide seat is slightly tilted backwards, providing a comfortable and relaxed seating experience.
The soft cushions are soft to the touch and give you a relaxing, enveloping feeling.

The large sofa, 184cm wide, allows you to stretch out your legs and sleep comfortably. (I'd love to have a three-seater one someday.)

It can be used not only at home, but also as fixtures in cafes and lobbies, and is sure to be a hit.

Recommended for couples, families, and of course for those who want a spacious room for themselves!

Vintage tile top coffee table

Next up is a stately tile-top table, combining chic patterned tiles with warm wood.

The legs are made up of distinctive L-shaped legs, which combine design and stability.

The corners are rounded, making it suitable for homes with small children.

The tile top is heat and water resistant, making it ideal not only as a side table in the living room, but also as a display table to highlight art and greenery.

It also goes perfectly with the three-seater sofa we introduced previously.

Stone top tables are the perfect accent piece for any room, and we recommend them to those of you with a sophisticated sense of style who don't like ordinary things.

Vintage teakwood double-sided desk

Next up we have a vintage double-sided desk that exudes a stately atmosphere.

The design is based on straight lines and no flashy decorations, and is generously made with teak, one of the world's three most precious woods, to highlight the charm of the material and make it fit into any space.

The tabletop has a unique rounded shape, with curved edges that give it a soft impression.

The three drawers have charming rounded handles, and the drawers are attached to a lockable shelf, providing excellent privacy and practicality.

The back also has a shelf that can be used for storage or display, making it a beautiful piece from any angle.

Also, it looks like the kind of desk a cool old man in a Western movie would use, so if I could become one myself, I'd like to have this desk.
Do he use a cool desk because he's a cool old man, or does using a cool desk make him a cool old man?

Although we were unable to identify the manufacturer or designer, this is a special piece that exudes the craftsmanship of the time.

How about adding a warm vintage desk to your home study or workspace, which can often be rather impersonal?

KENGU LOUNGE High-Back Lounge Chair

KENGU LOUNGE Low Back Lounge Chair

Next up is the KENGU LOUNGE Lounge Chair, a premium single-seat chair. We will introduce two chairs: a high-back and a low-back.

RYBO RIKKEN & Co. is a leading Norwegian furniture manufacturer. They continue to manufacture furniture in Norway, focusing on commercial furniture.

A lounge chair from the KENGU LOUNGE series manufactured in the 1960s and 1970s.

This is a sophisticated design by leading Norwegian designers Elsa and Nordahl Solheim.

The ergonomic design ensures that the angle and curve of the backrest fits naturally from the waist to the spine, preventing back pain and stiff shoulders even when sitting for long periods of time.

These two chairs are seriously comfortable to sit on. The cantilevered structure provides a comfortable rocking motion, and it really does relax your body and mind.

What's more, since it's made of leather, the more you sit on it, the more it will fit your shape, literally becoming your own special seat!

Børge Mogensen Model 5361 Table

The last item we would like to introduce is the vintage Model 5361 table, designed by Børge Mogensen and manufactured by AKTIESELSKABET FREDERICIA STOLEFABRIK.

AKTIESELSKABET FREDERICIA STOLEFABRIK is a prestigious furniture manufacturer founded in 1911 and the predecessor of Fredericia Furniture .

Designer Børge Mogensen (1914-1972) believed that "furniture is a tool for humans," and placed a high priority on comfort and durability for everyday use rather than on trends or appearance. He stripped away unnecessary decoration, focused on the texture and structural beauty of the materials, and made use of natural materials such as wood and leather, creating furniture that becomes more beautiful over time.

He is said to be one of the key figures in the Golden Age of Danish furniture, having helped spread Danish Modernism from the 1940s to the 1960s to the world alongside Wegner and Jacobsen. In short, he was a super designer.

This coffee table is believed to have been designed by Mogensen in the 1960s. It features a simple, linear design made of mahogany. The back of the table features a Fredericia manufacturer's seal, a handwritten model name, and a serial number.

It prioritizes ease of use, eliminating unnecessary elements, and is lightweight and easy to handle.
It's a good size at 80 x 60 cm, so it will likely come in handy in a variety of places.

After all, simple is the best because it never gets boring and is easy to match with other furniture.

Being a vintage product from a famous designer, it is not cheap, but it is definitely something you can use for a lifetime.

This is a recommended coffee table that you can enjoy as it changes over time and live with for a long time!

Thank you for reading this far.

At SHARK ATTACK, we receive a lot of vintage furniture in our monthly container shipments, and we would like to conclude by talking about the appeal of vintage items.

First of all, not all furniture that has been manufactured for decades is considered vintage furniture.

Only furniture that is of a quality that can withstand everyday use, that has been cared for and restored rather than thrown away, and that has survived through changing hands, can be called "vintage." Not all furniture made in the same era remains.

In other words, the fact that it has survived to this day is proof of its value.

These special pieces, with beauty etched by time, artisanal skills, and designs that will be loved for generations, come to SHARK ATTACK as vintage furniture.

By the way, we still have containers arriving this summer, so be sure to check them out!

"Vintage items are a once-in-a-lifetime experience," as you never know when the same item will be restocked.
You may never see them again, so please contact us as soon as possible if you are interested.
