[Otto Keramik]
Otto Gerhartz founded this pottery manufacturer in Germany in 1964. It was one of the leading manufacturers of the "Fat Lava" pottery boom of the 1960s and 1970s. While most of the Fat Lava pottery has now ceased production, Otto Keramik is one of the few potteries still producing current products. He served as production director for Ruscha, Fat Lava's flagship brand, and invented various glazes. After going independent, he started Otto Keramik in his home studio. His son, Otto Gerhartz Junior, has now inherited his father's legacy and continues to push the boundaries of glazes, colors, and textures, creating artistic ceramics by hand with meticulous attention to detail.
"Otto Keramik Tokyo" is the official distributor of Otto Keramik in Japan, with a store located on the second floor of Sendagaya Cerote Antiques .
