Hello everyone.
This is Ito from Cerote Antiques Sendagaya store.
It's already been two months since the new year began, and it really feels like time is passing quickly, with many of our customers already starting to look for furniture for their new lives starting in April!
Then there's the dining table and chairs,
Lighting is something we see many customers looking for.
Lighting is the finishing touch when creating an interior, and it is a core item in any space that can completely change its atmosphere.
These lights are coming out of repair shop one after another and are on display in the store.
We would like to introduce some recommended items from the items that have arrived at Cerote Antiques Sendagaya store!
① 70s Danish Knud Christensen UFO

The first is a lighting fixture that, as its name suggests, features a futuristic form reminiscent of a UFO.
The unique design evokes the essence of mid-century design.
Its edgy look adds a unique accent to the space.
The top of the shade is made of a plastic material that is swirled like a disk.
The parts are combined together, and when lit, the light that leaks out is fantastic.
Since the light source is designed not to be directly visible, it is recommended to hang it low above a dining table, etc.
② 60s Denmark” Vitrika glass x brass pendant lamp
This is a Danish lighting manufacturer, Vitrka, using glass from the long-established Swedish glass manufacturer Orrefors.
A brass and glass pendant lamp manufactured around 1960.
The design was created by Swedish glass and lighting designer Carl Fagerlund, and the light that filters through the intricate cuts in the amber glass is beautiful.
The combination of the curved glass side and the brass base gives it a decorative impression, and the cylindrical shape makes it suitable for use as an interior accent in a variety of situations.
The beautiful glass material from Orrefors, a company that produces high-quality crystal art, is beautiful even when the light is off, and it's so lovely you could look at it forever!
80s Danish "Holmegaard" Apoteker pendant lamp
This is a pendant lamp from Holmegaard, a long-established Danish glass brand.
This series was designed by Danish designer Sidse Werner in 1981 and is named "Apoteker", which means "pharmacy" or "pharmacist" in German.
It is manufactured using a technique in which clear glass is layered on top of a milky white glass called opal white and then fused together.
I love milk glass; it's a very calming material that is not see-through but doesn't trap light either, gently illuminating a soft, warm space.
Rather than being used as a main light source, this is a recommended item to hang low over a cafe-table sized table, or even in a bedroom.
Its unartificial beauty, like moonlight, is what makes it so appealing.
A distinctive feature of Nordic vintage pendant lamps is their design that lets out a natural light that illuminates the cozy space. It is difficult to light up the entire room with just one lamp, but by placing another light source in a shadowed area, a balance of light and shadow is created, giving the space a three-dimensional feel.
Placing table lamps or desk lamps in your work space and floor lamps in dark corners and corners will create a more high-quality atmosphere.
We have also received some excellent products that are perfect for side use, so we will introduce them to you!
① Vintage 60s-70s Danish Soholm ceramic table lamp
This is a table lamp with a ceramic base by Søholm, which we introduced in detail in a previous blog.
The company was founded in 1835 by Herman Sonne Wolffsen and Edvard Chr. Sonne on the island of Bornholm in the Baltic Sea.It produced many pieces with a different flavor to pottery from Copenhagen and other places, and was one of the most popular pottery studios in Denmark from the 1950s to the 1980s.
The craft-like ceramic texture and unique design make it look like an objet d'art, and its attractive appearance makes it suitable for Nordic-style interiors as well as modern spaces.
② Vintage 60s-70s Danish ceramic table lamp
This is also a table lamp that uses a base made by Søholm.
The deep blue glaze is beautiful and gives the piece a sense of depth despite its simplicity.
Not only can it be placed practically next to a bed or desk, but it can also be enjoyed as a work of art by displaying it on a cabinet or sideboard.
I don't like spaces that are too bright, so I often leave the main lighting off and just use table lamps or floor lamps, but the soft light shining through the fabric is very comfortable, and these items allow you to enjoy interior design without taking up too much space, so I'm having trouble because they just keep piling up lol.
Next up we will introduce floor lamps, which have more presence than table lamps and are recommended not only for illuminating a room but also for adding movement to the space.
Vintage 60's Denmark "Fog&Morup" floor lamp
This is a floor lamp made by the Danish lighting brand Fog & Morup.
Fog&Morup is one of Scandinavian brands that produced many lighting products combining sophisticated modern design and functionality from the 1950s to the 1970s.
This lamp was made around the 1960s and has a metal base with a sliding arm and an adjustable shade.
Since the direction of the light can be freely changed, this is a recommended item to place next to a work space or next to a lounge chair as a reading light.
The slim, curved arm and circular base create a harmonious, streamlined design that looks great in any modern space.
2-light vintage floor lamp
*The stock at the Sendagaya store has a different cord color than what is listed on the website.
This floor lamp also has two shades that can be adjusted in height and angle, making it the perfect item for a workspace.
The horn-shaped shade, which gently widens towards the tip, is attached at a slight angle to the arm, making it easier to aim the light forward or diagonally downward rather than straight down, which is a convenient feature.
By adjusting the angles of the two shades and adding movement, you can enjoy matching them to your interior decor, and the different heights also create depth in the way the light spreads.
The design combines functionality and beauty, making this a piece that is full of Nordic charm.
Arranging multiple light sources according to purpose not only broadens the scope of your interior design, but also makes the room look larger and more comfortable, dramatically changing the impression it gives, so be sure to give it a try.
In addition, SHARK ATTACK also adjusts the length and configuration of lighting to suit your room, so we are also happy to accept consultations regarding installation.
