【千駄ヶ谷店】ヴィンテージの”珍品”揃ってます。 - SHARK ATTACK ONLINE SHOP

Hello everyone, it's been a while. This is Motoka from Cerote Antiques in Sendagaya.

This is the first blog of 2025.
We hope to help you find great vintage furniture this year as well, so we appreciate your continued support.

Now, to the main topic of this blog, I sometimes come across vintage items that make me wonder, "How would you use this?" or "Where would you use this?" Today, I would like to introduce some of these slightly "unusual" items.

Let's start with this item displayed in front of the store.

These are three theater chairs made in Czechoslovakia. They were apparently used in actual movie theaters, but I can't help but think it would be pretty uncomfortable to sit on those hard seats for long periods of time.

However, its appearance makes it instantly recognizable as vintage, and it has a charm that can never be found in modern furniture.

I wouldn't go so far as to say it's particularly comfortable to sit on, but it's a great item for creating atmosphere.

How about putting it in front of a cafe or second-hand clothing store?
(It sold while I was writing this blog...)

Next up is the work table.

Apparently it was actually used as a workbench for sorting gold.
I see, that's why the tabletop is black.

It is robustly constructed with six sturdy legs and even crossbeams connecting the legs.
It's so sturdy that you'll wonder if it was really necessary to make it this sturdy.

I'm going to go check the table now to see if there's any gold on it.

Next up is this guy standing ominously at the back of the basement floor.
This is a promotional object called "Mr. Peanuts" by an American confectionery company.

It is 120cm tall and very impressive. It fits easily.

Unfortunately, Mr. Peanut was sold out the other day. I wonder how I'll use it...

By the way, did you know that peanuts are not actually nuts?
To be precise, it is a type of bean.

Next is a vintage Dutch table lamp made from a remake of the thing that cows use to lick water in cowsheds.

I'm curious as to why they decided to remake it, but isn't it wonderful to give new life to something that has outlived its usefulness and connect it to the present day?

Why not try turning on the lights in your room while thinking of cows?

This is a piggy bank made by SOHOLM , a famous pottery manufacturer that existed on the Danish island of Bornholm from 1835 to 1996 .

This unique item turns politicians into ceramic piggy banks.
Did this actually sell when it was released?

But he was a high-ranking official and probably wealthy, so this would have helped him save money.

This is a promotional poster for the 1992 film "Reservoir Dogs."
Reservoir Dogs is a masterpiece directed, written and acted by Quentin Tarantino. This movie is really interesting.

I also think it would make a great cool wall decoration.

What did you think?
This time we introduced some unusual items available at Cerote Antiques in Sendagaya.
