Description

JICON

"JICON Jikon" is a combination of "porcelain" made in the modern "now" and the Buddhist term "jikon," which means "living in the present," and also refers to "porcelain" made by the Imamura family, which was founded 350 years ago.

The Imamura family started out in Sasebo and Mikawachi, and continued to make pottery as a purveyor to the Hirado Domain. The 12th generation moved the kiln to Arita to expand. The 13th generation, Hiroshi Imamura's second son, Hajime Imamura, became independent from Toetsugama. He opened Imamura Seito and continues to make JICON.

We make tableware for everyday use in the modern day, utilizing the white porcelain techniques using Amakusa pottery stone that continues from Mikawachi and Arita.
