Miyaso Pottery Factory was founded in 1914 (Taisho 3).
We have been producing ornaments every day for over 100 years.
This beckoning cat has a matte texture, made using Miyaso matte glaze. The "blessings" vary depending on the color. While white or calico cats were the most common beckoning cats, in recent years, beckoning cats of various colors have appeared that incorporate elements of Feng Shui. While the benefit of white and calico beckoning cats is the almighty "good luck and fortune," other colors bring various kinds of luck that reflect the times. Please choose the one that best suits your taste and the atmosphere of your interior.
[Black] Safety in the home, protection from misfortune Black, which cannot be stained with any color, is said to be a symbol of protection from misfortune and evil. In the West, black cats are considered to be unlucky, but in Japan, they are considered to be "lucky cats," a symbol of protection from misfortune, good luck, and prosperity in business, as they are believed to have good night vision and strong spiritual powers.
