Majolikafabrik Rheinbach Jean Fuss & Sohn is abbreviated to Marei, taking the Ma, R and ei parts of its company name. The workshop was founded in 1921.
In 1949 the factory split into two: Jean Fuss and his son founded Marei Keramik, and Josef Emons and his sons founded ES Keramik. Marei is based in Rheinbach and ceased production around 2016.
