Description
This bath mat is a collaboration between Watanabe Pile Textiles, a manufacturer of Imabari towels in Saijo City, Ehime Prefecture, and illustrator norahi.
The shuttle looms made in Imabari have been in operation since Watanabe Pile was founded in 1963.
This machine, which has been carefully maintained and repeatedly adjusted and remodeled for 60 years, is the very essence of Watanabe Pile's manufacturing process.The dense pile arrangement, which can only be achieved by skilled craftsmen taking their time to weave, creates a unique texture.
It is made using grey heathered yarn twisted from only high-quality San Joaquin cotton, and has a deep look that looks great even when simply placed on the floor.
