Description

Palais De Tokyo Armchairs

This rare vintage chair was manufactured in the Netherlands in the 1950s and is named after the fact that it was used in Paris's contemporary art museum, the Palais de Tokyo, and in movie theaters.

The linear, architectural form, constructed from beech and plywood, embodies the functional beauty and robustness that are characteristic of Dutch industrial design.
Although it is a practical design for a public facility, the texture of the wood that has changed over time gives it a tranquil presence like a work of art.

This chair combines Dutch craftsmanship with the cultural and historical background of Paris, and simply places itself in the space and adds a deep story to it.
