Royal Copenhagen's special collection, "Ear Mug"
The "Year Mug" series, which is created by designers and artists for each year, began in 1967.
For the first few years, it was produced as part of the "Baca" series, led by Nils Thorsson, who was the art director of Royal Copenhagen for many years.
Since then, a different designer has been used every year, resulting in the creation of many unique mugs.
The 1970 edition was designed by Dorte Schierup, the 1972 edition by Bodil Buch, the 1974 edition by Ellen Malmer, and the 1975 edition by Bodil Buch.
This mug was designed by Gerd Hiort in 1973.
Since 1987, the designs have been printed, giving them a more sophisticated and modern appeal.
Year mugs, beloved throughout the ages, are valuable collectibles that reflect the sensibilities of the artists who defined the year and the historical context of the time.
