It's been a while since my last blog post.
This is Ito from the Sendagaya store.
He is the person who always appears on the Sendagaya store's Instagram with just his back.
Today we would like to introduce some hidden gems among the items available at our Sendagaya store.
Even among our staff we are all saying that this is a really great item, but it is one that has not really caught the eye of our customers, so today I would like to introduce you to all of its charms.
The first one is an extendable dining table.
The good thing about this type of vintage dining table is that you can use it to suit your lifestyle, and it doesn't have the cheap feel that is common with mass-produced tables. They are all solidly and sturdy, and you can enjoy the changes in texture that occur over time that are unique to high-quality wood.
New, beautiful items can become sensitive to even the slightest stains, and can take on a worn-in feel after long use, but the beauty of vintage items is that you can actually enjoy the used feel, and you can nurture them like living things.
Today I picked up two items that I particularly recommend.
A Nordic style dining table that fits in with any style and goes well with modern items.
Some people may think that the deep color will give off a feeling of oppression, but the design is soft and airy enough that it can be used without feeling oppressive.
If the color of your floors is lighter than this, it can also have the effect of giving the space a more compact impression.
Furthermore, although it is normally 150cm in size, which allows four people to sit comfortably, it can be extended up to 260cm by extending the table tops on both sides.
Another great feature is that it has an oval shape with no corners, making it safe for use in homes with small children.
2.

The quality of the wood is excellent, giving it a natural yet deep feel.
The leg design is really cute.
The classical curved lines give the whole piece an edge. It's an iconic and cool item that can also be used as a display table for a store.
What I personally like about it is the texture of the tabletop with the oak pattern and the smooth feel. I think that if you occasionally clean it with lemon oil for furniture, it will have a refined luster. You can enjoy the change in texture as you use it.
The legs are secured using an old construction method in which wedges are inserted between the left and right boards.
It is designed to be disassembled while still ensuring strength and stability.
In addition, it is usually compact with a width of 138 cm,
By pulling out the extension boards on both sides underneath the tabletop , the table can be extended to 243cm, allowing it to accommodate 8 to 10 people.
Of course, it is also possible to use just one side, so you can use it in a variety of situations depending on your needs.
Next, we will introduce dining chairs that can be matched with tables.
These are also not well-known designer furniture, but we have picked out some masterpieces that are excellent in terms of design, sturdiness, and comfort.
1. Wood and fabric dining chair
I recommend this chair so much that I wonder why it's not selling well lol
At first glance, it looks like a simple dining chair, but the backrest is about 77cm high, so when you line them up in a dining room, it creates a three-dimensional effect in the space and the silhouette from the back is very cool. It also has a gentle curve, which gives it a sense of movement.
I am 156cm tall and when I sat down, I felt like my neck was well supported and it was very comfortable. The solid wood texture gives it a sense of stability.
The cushions are made of fabric, but they are a smooth material similar to nubuck (brushed cowhide) and the exquisite nude beige color gives them a modern feel.
It looks cute when paired with a vintage table, but it would also look great with a modern style table.
2. Czechoslovakia stackable vintage chairs
This is a slightly unusual vintage item made in Czechoslovakia.
Stacking chairs often have iron legs that give them an industrial feel, but this chair is not too industrial and has a sophisticated feel that can be incorporated into modern styles.
It is sturdy, with plywood legs and a curved backrest, but the chair itself is also lightweight and easy to handle.
This chair also has a beautiful silhouette from the back, so it is recommended for use as a dining chair, and I also think it would look cute displayed by itself or placed in your entranceway.
Personally, I like the look of the chairs stacked together, so it would be nice to display them stacked together as chairs to use when you have guests.
This time, we introduced some hidden gems, focusing on items that have not yet been featured on Instagram etc., and items that are less likely to catch your eye.
Please take this opportunity to check it out!
