The Royal System wall unit shelving unit was designed by Danish designer Paul Cadvius.

Its greatest feature is its wall-mounted design. Paul Cadovius came up with this system based on the idea that "most of us live at the bottom of a cube. By using the walls as floors, we can create a lot of space."

The modular structure allows for flexible combinations of shelves, cabinets, and other units to be installed on the wall, using support posts that are still used today, making it highly functional. This allows for combinations that suit individual needs and room layouts.

I think this design is suitable not only for use as a bookshelf, but also for displaying small items.

It is recommended for home use as well as store displays.

Danish designer and manufacturer, considered one of the most successful figures in the Danish furniture industry.

He founded his own furniture manufacturing company, Royal System, in 1945. Later, around 1964, he acquired the furniture manufacturer France & Søn and changed the company name to CADO. At CADO, he collaborated with some of Denmark's leading designers, including Sigvard Bernadotte, Grete Jalk, Arne Vodder, and Finn Juhl.

Published in 1948 The "Royal System" is his signature work. It overturned the conventional concept of floor-standing shelves and realized space-saving and flexible combinations as a modular shelving unit mounted on the wall. It received international acclaim, winning a gold medal at the Finnish Furniture Fair in 1950 and a silver medal at the Milan Triennale in 1957.

He applied for over 400 design patents during his lifetime and had a major influence on the Danish furniture design world, continuing to inspire future generations of designers until his death at the age of 99.
