Cultivate Series
Bonotsu is located at the southwestern tip of the Satsuma Peninsula. Facing the beautiful sea, it has a warm climate, and its rich soil is nurtured by mountain spring water and sea breezes. Using Bonotsu clay and Amakusa pottery stone from Kumamoto as a base, we create uniform and simple pottery that brings out the unique characteristics of each.
These tableware are easy to use in daily life, and retain the warmth and expression of earthenware that are characteristic of pottery, while also having the strength that is characteristic of porcelain. This series was born from the desire to directly convey the unique characteristics of the local earth and the culture of the land.
