ONE KILN's ASH series
This vessel has an iron-like texture and is made by firing it with a glaze made from a mixture of ash from Sakurajima, Kagoshima Prefecture, where ONE KILN CERAMICS' workshop is located.
We are committed to products made in Kagoshima, and one of the things we focused on was the volcanic ash that is provided by Sakurajima, our symbol.
This series was completed after many years of trial and error, including the amount of ash added and the firing temperature. The color of each piece varies depending on the position in the kiln and the chemical reaction of the glaze.
It's fun to find the texture that suits you best,
The glaze changes over time, which is also appealing. The more you use it, the more it will develop its own unique character, becoming your own unique tool.
