Hello. I'm Suzuki, a staff member at the Yamato store.
With the full summer approaching, it feels like the cloudy skies will continue for a while, but how are you all doing?
During this gloomy season, we'd like to introduce you to a collection of vibrant blue colors that will give you a feeling of early summer.
Danish vintage is recognised for its high standards of both design and quality.
During the so-called Golden Age of the 1950s to 1970s, the distinctive aesthetic sense that strongly reflected the aesthetic sense of lifestyle at the time began to change.
Today , we would like to introduce three dining chairs from manufacturers of traditional, long-established workshops during Denmark's golden age, which left behind a large number of high-quality vintage items: SMITHCO LINE PRODUCTS, MAGNUS OLESEN, and Farstrup møbler.
First, let's take a look at the dining chairs made by SMITHCO LINE PRODUCTS.
The seat and back are made of birch plywood and have a beautiful gentle curve, and the simple design makes this piece easy to match with a variety of spaces.
By using plywood, the thickness can be reduced while maintaining strength, giving the space a light impression.
We also have the same dining chair remade by our furniture craftsmen so that it can be used as both a stool and a footrest.
This is a rare combination that cannot be achieved with ready-made products, so we highly recommend that you try layouting them together.
Next, we will introduce the dining chairs made by Magnus Olsen.
Designed by Danish designers Rud Thygesen and Johnny Sørensen for Magnus Olesen .
The back angle is more gentle than the other two chairs, allowing you to sit comfortably in line with the arch of your body.
It is a simple yet warm design that will fit into any space.
MAGNUS OLESEN was founded in Denmark in 1937 and is highly regarded worldwide as a furniture manufacturer that develops and produces functional furniture.
Each item is made using carefully selected Nordic wood and fabrics, and is carefully finished by skilled craftsmen at our own factory in the city where we were founded.
Of the three chairs we are introducing this time, the dining chair made by Farstrup møbler is particularly resilient in the seat and the fabric gently wraps around your body, making it comfortable enough to sit for long periods of time without getting tired.
This item is available in multiple shades of blue.
Even with the same design, it might be a good idea to try changing the color to suit the way the sunlight enters and the lighting hits each room.
Farstrup møbler was founded as a manufacturing factory in 1910, began producing chairs around 1918, reached its peak in the 1950s and 1960s, and is still a furniture manufacturer that continues to manufacture in Denmark today.
They seem to be especially well-known for their stylish chairs.
Although it is generally referred to as blue color, the vividness and depth vary subtly depending on the individual.
Please come to the store and compare the colors in both natural and artificial light. I'm sure you'll find your favorite blue color.
