"Verona" is a pendant lamp with an elegant form and a sense of stability.

Danish Sven Middelboe (1910-2001) was hired as an in-house designer at NORDISK SOLAR in 1955, and he continued to research shade structures throughout his design career, which eventually culminated in the Verona pendant lamp, released in 1978.

With its horizontal emphasis, graceful form and sense of stability, this series quickly gained popularity and became one of his most iconic pendants. Even now, more than 40 years after its release, the original remains popular in the vintage market and is highly sought after by collectors.

Founded in 1919, this is one of Denmark's leading lighting brands and is one of the most popular manufacturers of Danish vintage lighting. Originally a manufacturer and seller of electrical equipment, the company expanded into the lighting industry in the 1940s and has produced a wide range of high-quality designer lighting.

[Sven Middelboe]

He was a renowned Danish lighting designer active from 1910 to the early 2000s. He was chief designer of Nordisk Solar Compagni, particularly from the 1960s to the 1970s, where he worked on numerous lighting designs. Throughout his designs, he pursued the harmony of light and studied shade structures, and showed particular attention to the combination of materials. He also collaborated with renowned architect Jørn Utzon, and played an important role in Danish mid-century design.
